Rain Date: A rain date shall not be scheduled. If the tourney cannot be played on May 25th, it will be canceled.
1st Game: 8:00 am (all games to be played at the Eureka Quarry Field).
Cost: $12.00/player (2 games guaranteed). I am sorry about the $2 rise in entry fee. A serious increase in tournament expenses has now made it impossible to maintain the original $10.00 price per player.
The tourney is a one-day coed softball event. Nine teams will be formed entirely through a draft system. The field will then compete for 1-pitch supremacy. Each batter receives 1 pitch. If the pitch is fouled off, swung at and missed, or hits the mat behind home plate, the batter is struck out. If the pitch is a ball, the batter walks. The rest of the game is played in normal fashion. Winning teams will receive their choice of custom jackets or custom sweatshirts . Plaques and trophies will be awarded to the winning managers and tournament MVP's.

This is truly a great day of softball, fun, food and drink - kind of like one big picnic where a softball game breaks out every hour or so. It's also a great way to meet other Softball America league members. Bring chairs, tents, coolers, and whatever else to make yourself comfortable. Make a day of it or come and go as you please.
The deadline to register for the tournament is 12:00 midnight, Friday, May 9, 2008; however, in all likelihood the tournament will fill up well before then. Members will be listed in the body of the draft on a first come, first served basis. Entrants must be, or have been, a registered member of Softball America at some point in the past 12 years. Outsiders to the league are not eligible to participate.
Please note: This will be a wood bat tournament. All core and all-star players will be required to use a wood softball bat. Male eddies (ages 52 to 64, and those exempt at age 49) may use any bat as set forth by Softball Americas regular season bat restriction policy. Female eddies, and male eddies 65 years and beyond, may use any bat as set forth by the ASA bat restriction policy.

1. Send an email with name, phone number, email address, field position(s) preferred, and a random 3-digit number in the event you are placed on the alternate list.

Along with 9 manager tandems (18 players), an additional 99 players can register to be drafted. The final total player breakdown is listed below.

Tournament play will follow ASA and SBA league rules with the following exceptions...
1. Core/eddie walk rule will not be observed
2. 2nd foul ball will not be observed
3. 3-2-1 eddie rule will apply - 3 eddies must be in your line-up, 2 must play the field, one of which must be female and play a position other than that of catcher.
4. All core and all-star players will be required to use a wood softball bat.
This tournament will not carry with it any rain date. The player draft is set for Sunday, May 11th, 7:30 pm at Gavins Tavern. Player statistics will be posted for the managers to use once the body of the draft is complete.
