Recaps for June 12, 2008 (Summer Week #3)

Poole's Skyline Tavern - 20, Penny Gardens - 9

Week #3 opened with Poole's Skyline Tavern taking it to Penny Gardens using a seven-run first inning and a six-run sixth inning to record a 20-9 victory. Penny was held to just two runs over the first five innings before scoring seven in the sixth inning but it was not enough.

Leading Poole's Skyline Tavern was Greg O. with three hits, three runs and two RBI's, Ron B. with four hits, three runs and three RBI's and Neal B. with four his and five RBI's in the win.

Penny Gardens got three hits and two RBI's from James and two hits and two RBI's from Gianelle in the loss.

Country Tavern - 10, Griffin Drywall - 7

A close game at the end was controlled throughout by Country Tavern as they score five runs in the first then allowed just four runs over the first six innings before holding off a late seventh inning rally from Griffin Drywall to hang on for a 10-7 win.

Leading Country Tavern was Greg T. with four hits and three runs scored in the lead-off hole. Greg M. had three hits and four RBI's and Gary had two hits and two RBI's.

Griffin Drywall had three hits and an RBI from Brian Ricci.

Rosengren Family Builders - 6, Horsham Inn - 4

The third game was a defensive battle as Rosengren flashed a bit more leather in recording a 6-4 victory. Horsham scored all four its runs in one inning to pull within 5-4 after three innings but were unable to mount any sort of rally the rest of the way as Rosengren posted the win.

Leading Rosengren was Ryan P with a double and two RBI's and Bob S. with a double and two RBI's.

Horsham Inn got two hits from Matt Kulp, Kyle Ladden, Bill Walsh, Jamison Walsh and Greg Schule in the loss.

Winding Brook Farm - 22, Priapus - 2

Game four was plain and simply a blow out. Winding Brook Farm hit early (seven runs in the first inning) and hit often (seven runs in the second and fourth and eight runs in the third) to record and easy 22-2 win. Priapus scored twice in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead but that was the lone scoring inning in the loss.

Leading Winding Brook was Tom Eggitto with four hits and four RBI's, Dom Ripa with two hits and two RBI's and Jason Covely with two hits and thre RBI's. Rich Bergamero had two hits two RBI's and Ken Scarbough had two hits and four RBI's in the win.

Priapus was led by Mike Ganas and Aaron Sachs with one hit and run scored each.
