Country Tavern - 19, Rosengren Family Builders - 4

Week #1 in the summer season started with Country Tavern blowing past Rosengren Family Builders, 19-4. A tie game at four after two innings was blown wide open in the fourth inning when Country Tavern scored nine times and cruised to the 19-4 win, blanking Rosengren over the final four innings.

Leading Country Tavern was Bill Stone with three hits, two runs scored and two RBI's. Greg Moylan hit two home runs and six RBI's and Steve Derrah had three hits and two runs scored.

For Rosengren Ryan Parfitt had two doubles and Ryan Peters had two hits including a triple in the loss.

Country Tavern - 16, Q.E.D. - 13

The second game of the day saw Country Tavern win again, starting the season 2-0, with a 16-13 victory over Q.E.D. Trailing 10-9 after five innings, Country Tavern scored seven times in the sixth and held off any Q.E.D. rally in the seventh to post the win.

Leading Country Tavern was Matt Eimlgiotti with four hits, including three triples and two RBI's. Dave Bishop added two home runs and three runs scored and Steve Derrah had two hits and three RBI's in the win.

Q.E.D. got two doubles and three runs scored from Darrin P. John Muntz had four hits and two runs scored and Charlie DiCarne had two hits and two runs scored.

Griffin Drywall - 22, Poole's Skyline Tavern - 16

The third game of the week was a slugfest as the two teams combined for 38 total runs that saw Griffin Drywall score nine runs in the third inning and post a run in all but one inning to provide the final tally. Poole's did all of its scoring in the first three innings opening up a 14-4 lead after two innings but failed to score in the final four innings in the loss.

Griffin Drywall was led by Bill Yok and Beau Burris who each hit home runs and combined to knock in six runs. Shaun Hollenbach, Eric Skillman and Joe Burke each scored three times in the win.

Poole's Skyline got three hits and three runs from Dick Moody, three hits and two runs from Brian Penecale, and three hits and two runs from Ron Hopkins.

Penny Gardens - 24, Horsham Inn - 11

The final game of the first night saw Penny Gardens open up a 12-2 lead after two innings and cruised the rest of the way recording a 24-11 win. Penny used six run innings three times including the first, second and seventh frames.

Penny Gardens got two three run home runs from Frank Hackett, five runs scored and a home run from Paul Loveland, a home from Eric Gianelle and five hits and four runs scored from Gary Valentine and Ray Bates.

Steve Campbell had three hits and two RBI's, Kyle Ladden had two hits and Greg Shue also had two hits in the loss.
