Season continues to move on and here we are now with another week of Wednesday Night
Softball action.
Game one...
Gavin's Tavern v. Hackert Auto Body
Gavin's managed to plate 12 runs through the first 6 innings of this game, but their outburst would come in the 7th as they plated 9 more in that frame. Mike Downey and Rob Pfeifer both went yard and Ron drove in 4 for the game. Gavins exploded for 21 runs in this one.
Hackert simply had no answers. Gary Ottenbret did drive in a run with a 3rd inning triple on his way to a 4-4 day which included 2 triples. But Hackert would only score 5 for the game on to their way to a 16 run defeat.
Game two...
Tonelli's Pizza v. Casey's Saloon and Eatery
Tonelli's offense was stiffled by Casey's as they were held to a mere 3 hits for the entire game.
Casey's however, came on this night to hit, and hit they did very well. John Foley, Jim Kennedy, and Dave Grice all went yard...but John and Dave's HR were of the Grand Slam kind.
With Casey's already plating 17 runs on the game...Dave Grice hit the game ending shot...a 4th inning Grand Slam to activate the 20-run mercy rule and ending the game with his round tripper. Long story short...Casey's win big...21-0.
Game three...
Punks v. Focus Forward
Punks got rolling in the 2nd inning when Patrick ripped a 2-run double and was followed up by Keith with another 2-run double. Patrick would double and score again in the 4th in route to helping his team score 8 runs for the game.
The Focused group came out with their bats smoking...early and often. In the 2nd inning alone they would plate 10 runs which was more than enough to seal this game. Tom Kline had
the big stick in the 2nd ripping a 3-run Homer. A steady and team balanced hitting attack helped the Focused group plate 20 for the game and defeat the Punks by 12.
