Curt is correct. Here is the response I got from Tom...
Hey Ron, after taking a closer look, the description does make it very clear that it does have varying wall thickness throughout the bat. I would hold off
for now if you haven't already bought it, if you have don't unwrap it.

Check out the new Demarini Line, Rip It Reaper. I feel the Flex, Extended, Recoil, Catalyst & Freak 98 (both need extensive break in), SCN9 Stealth, and
Rush 98 are better than anything new. Bat mfg. are looking to sell new stock. They want you to believe the newest is the latest and greatest. This is with any
mfg. product. If you had success with a specific bat in prior years, get that model. I've seen women
crush the ball with the: Demarini 375 and whitesteel, Anderson = rocketech, techzillz, matrix, RTFP, Worth: May 98, JHM7 98, M7 98, etc. There is no one bat that is a magic wand. Just try a bunch of bats as much as you can. Whatever feels good go with that. Then, do tons of batting practice. This will get you used to the bat; and, you can gauge what your results are. Continue to fine tune your swing until the muscle memory via repetitions kicks in. Rotate the bat after each hit. Also, hit the full length of the hitting barrel to evenly distribute the sweetspot. Thus, there will be no dead spots on your bat. Your big decision will be a balanced or end loaded bat. Then, pick 2-3 mfg specific models. Then go to google for bat reviews. If teammates don't have the specific bats you want to swing; go to Dick's, Sports Authority, Modell's, etc, to swing a particular bat. Go with what feels the best , and practice.
